The marketing team for Watch_Dogs, the upcoming hacker based adventure game, is totally on the money with their upcoming promotional campaign. Announced today are the two latest ideas they’ve come up with: A hacker app, and a hacker hunt, both of which give users the feeling that they’re doing hack-y things only a miniscule percentage of the world’s population is capable of.
The app, named the H_ide App is completely free, and allows for users to communicate via the use of encrypted messages to avoid detection and interception. Some key features include:
- Anonymous voice messages
- Encrypted text messages
- Encrypted pictures
- Message recording (up to 20 seconds)
- Choose a filter with which to modulate your voice
- Send your recordings to your friends
- Share content on social networks or directly as an SMS message.
The second promotion is the London Hacker Hunt. The details can be found here, but essentially what we are looking at is a series of clues released by Ubisoft leading to the tweet and instagram locations of five hackers in the London area.
