Mirror's Edge
When Mirror’s Edge was officially revealed at E3 2013, many gamers thought that we were finally getting the sequel we so eagerly anticipated for years. However, it was revealed to be a reboot and origins story for lead character Faith, rather than a real sequel.

Even though the first game was built on a hefty budget, DICE producer Patrick Bach revealed that to Videogamer that a sequel for the game never quite materialized due to the absence of a clear concept from the studio.

“The interesting thing is that it’s not about EA blocking DICE, it’s about DICE not – imagine this: it’s your own money. What do you want to bet on? You want to bet on something that you know will be great. You can’t just bet on a name. You need to have like, what’s the concept?”

At that point, DICE chose to focus more on games like Battlefield – which has yielded some fairly good results till this point. Regardless, Faith has returned and everything is more or less forgiven (though a release date for the game is still up in the air).
