Square Enix’s Final Fantasy IV: The After Years has released today for iOS and Android, with a launch trailer for the same. Check it out above. It currently retails for £10.99/€14.49.

Final Fantasy IV: The After Years directly follows its the original, which is set 17 years later and focuses on episodic tales featuring the original characters and even their offspring facing off against a new villain. There will be a mysterious storyline to follow and a quest to save the Blue Planet. Though it uses the same assets as the original game, you’ll be playing as a new character named Ceodore.

Of course, there are new 3D models, improved visuals and new gameplay features. Thus far, the game had released back in 2008 and has received some fairly good critical response (though it by no means touches the original). Have you had a chance to try it yet? Let us know in the comments below.
