Winter is coming.

Telltale Games returned during the Spike VGX Awards to announce that the Game of Thrones game, based on the best-selling series and award-winning TV show, will be releasing in 2014. Not much – if anything – was shown from the game, with a short teaser simply announcing its release. Check it out above.

Telltale stated that Game of Thrones would be “similar to other Telltale games” yet feature “large battles” and be told “in a Telltale way.” It was also revealed that though the game isn’t heavily action-centered, there are a fair number of times where you’ll need to pick up that sword and stab something.

Earlier, Telltale Games announced that it would be teaming with Gearbox Software and releasing Tales from the Borderlands, a title set in the sci-fi universe of Borderlands and featuring both old and new characters. You can check it out here, or stay tuned for more updates from the Spike VGX Awards.
