Xbox One Delayed in Certain Regions Til Q3 2014?

The eight territories which saw delays before may again be suffering from the same.

Microsoft officially unveiled the Xbox One in May earlier this year (to much fanfare, if we recall correctly), and announced at E3 that it would be bringing the console to 21 territories at launch. It later clarified that the Xbox One would be delayed in eight of those countries – Russia, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark – till early 2014.

Now according to a source that spoke to Gamereactor, the Xbox One apparently won’t release in Nordic countries until Q3 2014, making for another eight months or so of a delay. While it doesn’t say much about the other regions, it’s worth noting that this same source provided information on the original delay before it became public. So take it with half a grain of salt or something.

There are several things to take away from this. Microsoft stated before that localization was the main reason for the initial delay. Maybe it’s taking longer than expected? Regardless, the console is now available in the UK so it’s not impossible to import due to lack of region-locking. The PS4 is also already available in all of these regions.
