Star Citizen: Amazing First Gameplay Footage Revealed at PAX East

"Helmet! Helmet! Helmet!"

Posted By | On 11th, Apr. 2014

Cloud Imperium Games’ Star Citizen finally received its first in-game gameplay footage at PAX East, and if you had any doubts about the crowd-funded space sim, this should silence you fairly quickly. And yes, that is one sweet-ass looking helmet.

Developed on CryEngine and with more than $41 million in funding, Star Citizen will feature both a multiplayer and single-player campaign. The multiplayer is the real meat of the game as you’ll be traversing the universe, exploring new planets, trading, doing a bit of space pirating and just outright determining your own fate in the universe. Star Citizen is created very much in the vein of Chris Roberts’ Freelancer and Wing Commander titles, which means you’ll have the freedom to do absolutely anything you want.

The final commercial release of Star Citizen is estimated to be in 2015. Stay tuned for more information and updates on the game in the coming months.
