Square Enix is pushing forward with its updates to Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn ahead of the game’s Heavensward expansion later this year. While the patches for “Before the Fall” will prepare players for events to occur, they are also meant to introduce the Manderville Gold Saucer, a throwback to the saucer from Final Fantasy 7 and a centre for various mini-games.

The Manderville Gold Saucer will feature several different mini-games including Triple Triad from Final Fantasy 8 and the famous Chocobo Racing from Final Fantasy 7. Other games include the Mini, Jumbo Cactpot and Monster Toss. You’ll earn Saucer Points to spend throughout and even participate in Gold Saucer Active Time Events or GATEs with other players.

Head here for full details of the patch and what it adds to the game. In the meanwhile, what are you doing to prepare for the release of Heavensward? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more information.
