These Two New Trailers For Halo 5: Guardians Are All Sorts of Hype

It's happening again.

After the double whammy of Halo 4 and Halo: The Master Chief Collection, I swore to myself that I wouldn’t get hyped for another Halo game again, and especially not one helmed by 343 Industries, but these two new live action trailers, released last night when the release date was finally annoucned, are making it very hard for me to resist the hype.

Ah, what the hell, even baseball allows you three strikes.

Essentially, both these trailers are the same scene, but they are told in opposing viewpoints- Master Chief, and Agent Locke, with the latter having some sort of beef with the former, and hunting him down for his ‘treason.’ Exactly what the deal here is remains to be seen- but 343 is building up an epic confrontation between the two, so I really hope they don’t take the copout route, and have it resolved by having Chief convince Locke of his innocence, and then having the two of them working together, or some variation of that.

No matter how it goes down, however, it is impossible to deny just how amazing these trailers are. In spite of everything, I find myself hyped for Halo. Again.

Halo 5: Guardians launches exclusively on Xbox One October 27.
