Assassins Creed 2015

Ubisoft has finally confirmed that it’s upcoming Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate would not be coming to the Xbox 360 and PS3. However, during an earnings briefing, CEO Yves Guillemot also revealed that aside from Just Dance, many of its major series would not have previous-gen versions.

“On Just Dance, we will continue to bring old-gen console versions. But on the other products like Assassin’s Creed, Rainbow Six, The Division, and the unannounced franchise, we will not have old-gen versions.”

The reasoning was quite simple – sales on the PS4 and Xbox One made up 52 percent of total software sales, as compared to 15 percent during the same period last year. Considering the amazing performance of both the Xbox One and PS4 worldwide, the latter selling more than 22 million units worldwide, it only makes sense to adopt current gen platforms as soon as possible.

Will any of the above games come to the Wii U? We haven’t seen titles like Assassin’s Creed: Unity, Valiant Hearts: The Great War or Far Cry 4 on the Wii U, with Child of Light and Just Dance being the sole exceptions last year. Time will tell what Ubisoft’s plan for Nintendo’s console will be down the line.

Rainbow Six: Siege and Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate are both out later this year for Xbox One, PS4 and PC while Tom Clancy’s The Division has been delayed to Q1 2016. Stay tuned for more information.
