Xbox.com lists a release date of November 3rd for EA's racer.

Need for Speed

Ghost Games’ Need for Speed, a reboot of the series releasing later this year, will apparently be releasing on November 3rd. This is according to a listing on Xbox.com (which has since been removed from the US site), though this is far from official confirmation. Microsoft has also been known to insert placeholder dates for its games, as with the recent Halo 3: ODST release date situation.

However, the listing did offer some new interesting information on the game. Along with “rich authentic customization”, there will apparently be “five unique ways to play and win.” These include Speed, Style, Build, Crew and Outlaw which are paths to follow and build your reputation. We’re not sure how that’ll work or how there will be “multiple overlapping stories” but Need for Speed does seem to revolve more around building up one’s reputation along with racing.

It also seems that the new setting has been revealed and will play heavily on the “West Coast Urban” theme. From downtown cities to harbours and canyons, Venture Bay is looking like quite the open world playground. We’ll hopefully find out more in the coming weeks so stay tuned for more information.
