Star Fox zero

Nintendo kicked off its E3 2015 digital event with Star Fox Zero following some rather odd shenanigans involving puppets. IT did offer us a look at Fox, Peppy and Falco in puppet form though which is just plain amazing.

The world premiere gameplay trailer went straight into it by showcasing many of the signature mechanics seen before like lock-on targeting and space battles. The Arwing also seems capable of transforming into a two-legged Walker for tighter areas. Other vehicles like the Gyrowing and the Landmaster tank – each with their own transformations – were also spotted along with the return of All Range Mode. The Wii U GamePad also allows players to play through the cockpit of the vehicles in question, aiming by moving the GamePad around.

So yes, this is the Star Fox you know and love, updated for the new generation on Wii U. The “Zero” part of the name isn’t meant to indicate the game as a prequel or reboot – the kanji of “Zero” was thought to look cool and thus Shigeru Miyamoto wanted to include it in the name.
