Looks like Japan, too, will be getting the PS4 with the 1 TB hard drive- Sony today announced that a 1TB PS4 will launch in Japan on December 3rd. It will cost ¥39,980, which was what the original price of the PS4 was before its price dropped. For Japanese gamers who don’t put too much stock in on board storage space, the regular 500GB PS4 model is still available to purchase at the new price of ¥29,980.

Of course, with the PS4, you can never have too much disc space- every single game, whether physical or digital, actually installs itself to your hard drive, and given the size of games and their patches these days, that means that sooner rather than later, you’ll be out of storage space. Unless you have the technical knowhow to change the hard drive in the system (the PS4 still does not support external storage), you are best off getting a model with more storage to begin with.
