Bethesda Softworks has its hands busy with Fallout 4 but in a rather interesting twist, director Todd Howard revealed to Game Informer that during early development stages of the game, “The first thing we did was port Skyrim to Xbox One.”

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is Howards other directorial epic and it was a massive success for Bethesda, selling well even today and boasting a dedicated modding community. Skyrim released on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 and there have been rumours that it could arrive on Xbox One and PS4 as a remastered release. However, since the porting exercise was done to familiarize staff members with the current gen hardware, Howard says, “Don’t get your hopes up yet.”

That being said, it’s not completely impossible, especially if Bethesda needs a solid release to fill the years between Fallout 4 and the next major Elder Scrolls title. What are your thoughts on The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim on PS4 and Xbox One? Let us know in the comments below.
