Earlier today we reported that Kojima is finally free from the shackles of Konami and is now the owner of a new games studio aptly titled Kojima Productions. They are currently working on a new game that will be exclusive to the PlayStation 4 and may possibly come to the PC platform given that the new title is a “console” exclusive. Given how the term “console” exclusive has been thrown around this generation, there is a good chance that the game will hit Steam/PC platform in the future. But the game will possibly never come to the Xbox One given that Sony is “helping” out with the development process.

Hundreds of thousands of fans have reacted to the new studio’s announcement but they are not alone. Several developers, executives and industry people have reacted too. Let us take a look at some of them.

Santana Mishra, Developer of Assault Android Cactus, on Kojima developing exclusively for one console:

So who made this deal between Sony and Kojima possible? Of course, there were a number of people involved but the deal would have never happened without Brad Douglas, PlayStation’s third party executive and Ken-ichiro Imaizumi, former Konami producer and now a part of Kojima’s latest venture.

Mike Bithell [Developer of indie hit Volume]

Donna Burke [Singer, has sung songs for several Metal Gear Solid games and the first to hint that Kojima has formed his own studio]

Platinum Games’s Kellum:

Aaryn Flynn and Mike Laidlaw From Bioware:

And finally, Microsoft’s Larry Hryb. Must say, he is a true professional despite Sony getting hold of the biggest fish this console generation.

Now let us hope that Kojima does not take 7 years to actually make the game!
