Mafia 3 Developer Doesn’t Want To Release A Buggy Game

A bug free experience would be a welcome change.

Hangar 13 wants to make sure than when it releases Mafia 3, the game is as good as it can be. In particular, lead developer Andy Wilson recently sat down for a recent interview where he made it clear the team working on the title doesn’t want to have a buggy mess on their hands when it finally goes live. If the developer can stick to that promise, it would be a bit of a change from other releases in this generation of console games.

“Yeah, we’re not going to release a buggy game. That’s for sure. We’re very, very aware of what that would do. Obviously, we are still part way through development, so the challenge of producing demo builds is always… you’re essentially trying to put something together that says it’s finished and is as representative as possible. And we all have bugs.” Wilson told Prankster101. While games for the Xbox One and PS4 have largely looked better than any titles we’ve seen before, large post release patches have been needed for almost all of them in order to fix any number of different bugs. Some of these bugs have been of the game breaking variety. Gamers have wondered early and often why development teams haven’t been able to catch them before the titles hit the market.

The desire to have all the bugs ironed out could be why no one is willing to give Mafia 3 an official release date just yet. While it’s still slated for sometime in 2016, publisher 2K Games recently shot down rumors it was expected this April. When it does finally launch, Mafia 3 will be available on the Xbox One, PC and PS4.
