Mass Effect Andromeda

Though EA revealed earlier that Bioware’s Mass Effect Andromeda could release by the end of fiscal year 2017, the developer has gone ahead and officially confirmed its delay to “early 2017”. The game was earlier pegged to release by Q4 2016.

In a new blog post, Bioware noted that the delay was in order “to make sure we deliver everything the game can be and should be” and that it will be showcased at EA Play, the publisher’s E3 conference taking place on June 12.

Bioware general manager Aaryn Flynn noted that, “As we’ve been playing the game at the studio recently, it’s showing us that we’re taking the game in the right direction. But we also know we need the right amount of time to make sure we deliver everything the game can be and should be – that’s our commitment from all of us to all of you. Because of that, Mass Effect: Andromeda will now ship in early 2017.”

Flynn also noted the design goals for the title including more freedom, new uncharted worlds with “new allies” and “new enemies”. Bioware is also “pushing the technology to deliver visuals, story, and gameplay that have never been done in franchise history.”

Regardless, no Mass Effect Andromeda until 2017. Thoughts? Let us know below.
