Overwatch

Overwatch is now available worldwide for Xbox One, PS4 and PC, and if you haven’t played the hero-based team shooter, it’s pretty rad. As with most games in this genre, a lot will depend on the post-launch support.

Director Jeff Kaplan earlier promised that a ton of post-launch content was coming to the game. In a new live Q&A on Facebook, Kaplan noted that Competitive Play will probably be out in mid to late June as part of the first major update. The mode was cut from the open beta and launch due to tweaks and changes the dev team wanted to make based on feedback. Sudden Death is one of the features that will be looked at along with its frequency.

Kaplan did reveal that Competitive Play would feature seasons lasting for roughly 2.5 months as opposed to one month and that there would likely be a week or two before the next season would begin.

More good news for fans of the animated shorts – there will be more in the coming days with Roadhog to be the next character showcased. You can also look for further story expansion in-game as well through graphic novels.
