For Honor Requires Constant Internet Connection

Blame "elements of progression" common to single and multiplayer.

Ubisoft’s For Honor will be asking more than just your time and patience. The third person slasher will also require a constant internet connection to play, even for its single-player story.

According to a community representative on the official forums, “We can confirm that For Honor is an always online experience. Some elements of progression, which is hosted online, are shared across story and multiplayer modes. Players will need to be connected to the internet at all times to play For Honor.”

While the reasoning seems sound, it’s not exactly going to light up many a player’s mood, especially since Ubisoft has tried the constant internet connectivity before DRM purposes and it didn’t work out.

For Honor is out on February 14th 2017 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. What are your thoughts on it requiring a constant internet connection? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
