Mass Effect Andromeda Won’t Have VR Mode

Bioware's Mike Gamble confirms.

Thanks to the launch of the PSVR and other devices that deal in the world of virtual reality, many games are launching with a bonus VR mode attached. One game that won’t be coming with this feature is Mass Effect Andromeda, though the game’s producer likes the technology.

Producer Mike Gamble spoke to Stevivor and confirmed, before rumors get rolling, that there won’t be any kind of a VR mode in Andromeda, even if he kind of wishes there was. “It would be cool. All I would say is that we would never want to ‘port’ a Mass Effect game to VR. We would want to create a custom experience, if we were to ever do it.”

However Gamble did seem to indicate that if the development team intends to work on a VR Mass Effect game it would have to be “a very custom-created experience.” Meanwhile, Mass Effect Andromeda is releasing sometime in 2017.
