Half Life Remake Black Mesa Delays Xen Portion to December

Other fixes detailed.

Crowbar Collective’s Black Mesa, a remake of Valve’s classic FPS Half-Life, has been in development for a while now. A large portion of the game is finished but the final sections, namely Xen, have yet to be completed. As it turns out, these have been delayed from Summer to December.

The studio updated the Steam forums and said that it didn’t want to compromise on quality. “We know that this is not what anyone would want to hear, but after taking a long and hard look at what we want to achieve, we have decided that this is for the best.

“We do not want to compromise on Xen’s quality in any way. That said, we consider December to be a do-or-die deadline.”

Other updates include the lighting system supporting “fully dynamic lights”, colour collection for the over-saturated colours and also fixing the weapon holding animations. Though the game is still in early access on Steam since 2015, it’s still one of the better FPS titles you can play.

What are your thoughts on Xen being delayed again? Let us know in the comments.
