Shenmue 3 Receives First Teaser, Showcases Stunning Environments

Ys Net’s Shenmue 3 received its first teaser at Gamescom, showcasing a “small slice” of a build that’s currently in development. Along with new appearances for the main characters and some fresh faces, we also get a look at the world of Shenmue. Check it out below.

Of course, this is an early build, that too a small piece of it. The final product is still a ways off and will see improvements down the line. Keep that in mind before freaking out about “facial animations” and “immersion”.

After the series’ hiatus following Shenmue 2, Shenmue 3 was anticipated for years and years. The game was finally announced at E3 2015 with its Kickstarter launched for the same. It was subsequently delayed into the second half of 2018 but Ys Net promised more information including a publishing deal with Deep Silver. A meet and greet Q&A with creator Yu Suzuki at Gamescom for attendees is currently planned on August 23rd and 24th.

Shenmue 3 is coming to PS4 but will also release on PC.
