The Division Update 1.8

For fans of Tom Clancy’s The Division, there’s plenty to look forward to with update 1.8. In its most recent State of the Game, Ubisoft Massive revealed that update 1.8 currently has no release date. However, it did share a few details as to what players could expect.

Though there’s no new Incursion, there will be new narrative content via audiologs and some in-game story-telling. The new location is West Side Piers and will play differently from previous PvE zones. With all four NPC factions working together, there will be a new spawn system and challenges each time players enter.

Alerts will also come in via ISAAC indicating where enemies spawn and sometimes, you may even be ambushed. You can even have certain alerts with new Assignments coming in every 15 to 20 minutes and having objectives like “Kill 20 enemies with pistols”.

As for the new Resistance and Skirmish modes, they’ll take place exclusively on the Intrepid Aircraft Carrier. Which means you can only explore the location in that mode. There will be different Points of Interest in the area along with Division Tech which can be used to improve certain pieces of Gear. And yes, Resistance mode can be played either solo or with four other players for some Division-style Horde action.

If that weren’t enough, the new Camp Clinton social space will have vendors and a recalibration station along with tools to track your activities. Other changes like the Underground update, Rogue 2.0 and Gear Improvement will be detailed in the future.
