Destiny 2 Will Skip Festival of The Lost in 2017, “May See It Again Someday”

The Dawning will be Destiny 2's first real event this year, not Festival of the Lost.

Destiny 2

Seasons will be the new flavour of entertainment for Destiny 2 players in the coming months, especially as they bring new activities and Eververse cosmetics. While players are bemoaning the lack of any meaningful end-game content or rewards, Bungie has confirmed that one somewhat beloved event will not be a part of the Destiny 2 release calendar in 2017.

We’re talking about Festival of the Lost, the Halloween-themed event meant to celebrate those of the Tower and Last City who have passed away. Community manager David “DeeJ” Dague confirmed on Twitter that the seasonal event wouldn’t be returning in 2017. While we “may see it again someday”, the first event that Destiny 2 will be seeing is The Dawning.

Hilariously enough, given how the Tower in Destiny 2 has been rebuilt following a terrible war with the Red Legion where likely hundreds have died, Festival of the Lost would have been an appropriate event. Unfortunately, Bungie doesn’t seem to think so. More information on Seasons, their activities and rewards can be found here.
