Tom Clancy’s The Division Has Over 20 Million Players

500,000 players have spent more than 400 hours in the game, as per Ubisoft Massive.

Though it’s roughly two years old, Ubisoft Massive has announced a pretty significant milestone for Tom Clancy’s The Division – it has over 20 million players worldwide. Other stats released by the developer include 500,000 players having over 400 hours in the game; double the engagement since update 1.8 launched; and much more.

To celebrate the game’s two year anniversary, Ubisoft Massive has announced that the entire month of March will have Global Events. Global Events are week-long events which add modifiers to all activities and provide Tokens for earning cosmetics and Classified Gear Sets. The first Global Event is Outbreak, which adds a contamination effect to enemies which causes damage-over-time if you get too close. It’s currently live for all players.

Tom Clancy’s The Division had a pretty good launch in 2016. However, bogged down by issues and glitches, the third person shooter/RPG saw a major drop-off in player count. Over time, the studio has devoted resources towards free updates to improve the experience with the most recent update 1.8 aka Resistance garnering praise. What are your thoughts on The Division after all this time? Let us know below.
