Monster Hunter World

Capcom recently announced their results of the past incoming year and also revealed some of their plans for this current fiscal year which ends on March 31, 2019. The company has now published the Q&A summary for the past fiscal year which reveals more of their outlook for the coming year.

Monster Hunter World has sold eight million copies so far making it the company’s best-selling game ever. The company has now stated that they will use this game as a benchmark for all future AAA titles that they will develop. As we had reported earlier, the company will be releasing two major titles by the end of this fiscal year and they estimate both these game to sell millions of copies each.

Additionally, Capcom discussed their plans to achieve growth globally and stated, “While the Japanese home video game market is sizable, it is less than 10% the size of the global market. We believe that Capcom must win out against publishers on the global stage, such as those in the U.S. and Europe, in order to grow in the medium- to long-term. Esports, which has been garnering attention throughout the globe, provides the perfect opportunity for us to compete on the world stage. The Capcom brand already enjoys high levels of recognition globally; as such, we are streamlining our corporate structure in order to leverage this brand recognition and win out at the global level.”

Hopefully, we’ll get to know more about the company’s new games at E3 which will take place next month. All in all, it looks like it’s going to be an exciting year for the company.
