Days Gone Will Push The PS4 To Its Limits, Will Be ‘Best In Class’

Wouldn't expect anything less.

Days Gone has been receiving a ton of new details these days, what with it being the focus of Game Informer’s May coverage, and we’ve discovered some pretty neat and interesting things about the game in the last few days as a result. As part of the coverage, Game Informer recently sat down with key members of the game’s development team – game director Jeff Ross, creative director John Garvin, and studio director Christopher Reese – and spoke about a number of things.

One of the things that popped up was how the game’s going to be pushing the PlayStation 4 hardware to its limits, and how developers Bend Studios were making sure the game was up to the incredibly high standards Sony Worldwide Studios have set for themselves. “We’re definitely pushing the PlayStation 4 to its limits,” they said. “The first thing to be clear about is, we are Sony. Sony Bend is Sony. We have a whole team of producers, they would come down monthly. They’re constantly working with marketing and PR and outsourcing to make sure that what we’re building is something we can sell because that’s important, but also something that’s worthy of first party because we’re part of Sony.”

“What we really want to do is create something that is best in class for the kind of game that we’re making,” they stated. “That’s super important to us.” That makes a lot of sense, especially considering the immaculate quality we’ve seen in other first part Sony titles over the last few years, including the likes of Horizon: Zero Dawn, The Last of Us, Uncharted 4, and God of War.

Days Gone is slated for a 2019 release for the PS4. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more coverage on the game.
