RAGE 2 Targeting 60 FPS on Xbox One X and PS4 Pro

Development team also says this will be a strictly single-player experience.

At first glance, the world of RAGE 2 developed by id Software and Avalanche Studios feels too good to be true. Strong texture work and effects mixed with a rock-solid 60 FPS frame rate? The two developers are talented but this is an open world first person shooter we’re talking about.

Fortunately, it looks like RAGE 2 will be targeting 60 frames per second on consoles…if you own an Xbox One X or PS4 Pro that is. This fact was recently revealed at E3 2018 to Eurogamer. Naturally the game will support 60 FPS on PC as well.

RAGE 2 designer Magnus Nedfors also spoke to the site at a pre-E3 event in Avalanche Stockholm and confirmed that the game would be single-player only. “We’re just focused on the best open world single player game that we can make. I personally really believe you can make single player games really fantastic, so that’s what we’re focused on.”

Which sounds great but if you planned to co-op with friends, perhaps to get over the waiting for Borderlands 3, then you can’t. RAGE 2 is currently slated to release in Spring 2019 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Expect a more concrete release date in the coming months.
