The World Ends With You is finally getting its Switch release in the form of Final Remix on October 12. That said, even though it’s a beloved game, it’s a very old game- the title first came out on Nintendo DS in 2006 in Japan, with a 2007 release in the rest of the world. Surely the fact that so much time has passed would mean that it wouldn’t be full price, that it would be a bit cheaper, right?
Well… yes and no. The game certainly isn’t a full price title. However, it also might not be as cheap as many were hoping for. The game will cost $50 USD in the west- which stings, since the DS original launched at $40, and that was eleven years ago. Nonetheless, this port has been redone HD graphics, remapped controls, substantial new story content, and remixed music- so I do see where Square is coming from here as well.
The World Ends With You: Final Remix launches exclusively on Nintendo Switch on October 12.
