PS5 And Xbox Scarlett Should Have ‘More Performance, More Memory, Faster Loading Times’, Says Dev

Better VR integration also seems to be on the wishlist.

Everyone has their own take on what they want to see from the next generation of PlayStation and Xbox consoles. Some people just want more of everything, others want 4K/60 FPS baselines, while yet others are looking for things like better VR integration. We recently sat down for a chat with René Nold, CEO of weltenbauer. Software Entwicklung GmbH (developers of Construction Simulator 2), and he seems to go along with that last bit.

We asked Nold if there was anything he specifically wanted to see from next-gen consoles, and his answer was, for the most part, mostly concerned with seeing new tech that could be good for the simulation genre, including things like better performance and memory. Another one of the pieces of tech he believes will serve that purpose is better VR.

“More performance, more memory, faster loading times,” Nold told GamingBolt when asked about what he would like to see in the PS5 and the next Xbox (which seems to be codenamed Xbox Scarlett). “Maybe some exciting new operating concepts. Who knows? Maybe there is even something which can be used or adapted especially well for simulation games which are often extremely complex when it comes to vehicle controls. I also hope that VR will be on board. VR is an exciting thing for sure – also for the genre of simulation games. We are curious to see what will happen!”

Those seem like pretty reasonable demands. In fact they almost seem standard. We can obviously expect to see better performance, faster loading times, and more memory from next-gen consoles, while better VR integration is something that hopefully Sony, at the very least, will be looking to incorporate in the PS5.
