Hitman 2 Goes Gold Ahead of November Launch

IO Interactive's non-episodic follow-up is still a ways off from launch.

Hitman 2

It isn’t even October yet, and IO Interactive has announced on Twitter that Hitman 2 has gone gold. Principle development on the title has been completed, and physical copies are being manufactured and readied for shipping. Digital storefronts will also prepare to stock the game beforehand.

Hitman 2 will continue the same formula established in 2016’s Hitman, with six new locations to explore, new disguises, and new tools. We’ve already seen the first location – a racetrack in Miami – and the developer recently showcased the second. It takes place in a Colombian jungle and requires assassinating three members of the Delgado Cartel.

Unlike the first game, Hitman 2 will not be an episodic release. There will be two expansions available after launch, which add new locations, missions, maps for the Sniper Assassin mode, new outfits, and new weapons. The Gold Edition includes both expansions, along with four day early access to the base game.

Hitman 2 releases worldwide on November 13th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. If you never played the previous Hitman, you’re in luck – Hitman 2 will feature updated versions of the same missions, playable with new gadgets.
