That Hideo Kojima likes working with people he’s already worked with in the past is no secret. Other than tapping up the talents of Norman Reddus and Guillermo del Toro for the upcoming Death Stranding – both of whom worked with Kojima on P.T. and the cancelled Silent Hills – Kojima also recently announced the Japanese voice cast of his upcoming title, which includes nearly all the most prominent actors he’s worked with on the Metal Gear Solid games (with the notable exception of David Hayter, of course).
One of the names, other than Hayter, that has been missing, is Robin Atkin Downes, the man who voiced Kaz Miller in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and Metal Gear Solid 5. His inclusion is something that a lot of fans have been expecting will be announced sooner or later, and it now seems that Downes himself might be hinting at that as well.
Downes recently retweeted artwork for Death Stranding that was put up by Kojima, showing off some of its main character, and accompanied the retweet with a quote that Metal Gear Solid fans would be very familiar with. “If the Boss has some plan, what is it?” Downes wrote. Interestingly enough, Kojima also recently hinted that though Tomokazu Sugita, the Japanese voice of Kaz Miller hadn’t been cast in Death Stranding yet, it might end up happening eventually.
In related news, Stefanie Joosten, someone else Kojima has worked with in the past (the actor who portrayed Quiet in Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain) might also have a part to play in Death Stranding. Read more on that through here.
@Kojima_Hideo What was it all for…? If the Boss has some plan, what is it? https://t.co/YrULo6nqTl
