Red Dead Redemption 2

It’s been an amazing few weeks for Red Dead Redemption fans. In addition to a ton of new info on the upcoming game thanks to a round of previews, Rockstar recently also released a new gameplay trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2. And now we have some more new details on the game, and though they’re not exactly huge, they definitely qualify as interesting.

Rockstar Intel recently posted a bunch of new updates on their Twitter account (which you can view below) that revealed plenty of neat details about the game. For starters, we learn that Rockstar Games have used over a thousand actors for the portrayal of all the NPCs in their game- which, I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you, is a huge number. Each NPC, interestingly, has their own personality as well, which seems to be in line with what we’ve heard of the game’s dynamic NPCs earlier. Additionally, the game will also have Native American characters, which makes sense, given the setting, and also because there were plenty of prominent Native American characters in 2010’s Red Dead Redemption as well.

Next, we learn a bit more about the much hyped Honor system, and that the game will tally up all honorable and dishonorable actions committed by the player, though apparently the system won’t be as binary as it was in the first game. In a neat little touch, things such as the music, Arthur’s facial expressions, and his stance and the way he carries himself will also change to reflect his disposition.

Bonding with horses is something we’ve heard a great deal of already, and we have some more new info on that as well. Spending more time riding your horse will increase your bond, which is something we already know about, but the bond will go through four levels of progression, with each new level allowing you to manoeuvre your horse in different and more effective ways. Lastly, players will also be able to browse weapons physically in shops, similar to the Ammu-Nation vendors in Grand Theft Auto games, while there will also be a catalog in the shops that you can flip through as well.

Red Dead Redemption 2 launches on October 26 for the PS4 and Xbox One.
