Persona 5’s Joker is First DLC Fighter for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

The leader of the Phantom Thieves will bring his Persona to the Smash roster next year.

Persona 5’s Phantom Thieves invaded the Microsoft Theater during The Game Awards, but the spotlight was firmly on Joker, the protagonist and leader. But why? Of course, to reveal that Joker would be the first DLC character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. With the ability to summon his Persona, Joker further reinforces the “Everyone is here!” addendum.

As part of the Fighters Pass, Joker will be the first of five DLC characters to join the roster. Nintendo had promised new stages and music to accompany each DLC fighter so don’t be surprised if something from Persona 5 shows up. Will the Phantom Thieves have their own Spirits in-game? How will Joker play, and what impact will his Persona have on battles?

Whatever the case may be, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is out today for Nintendo Switch. It collects over 70 fighters from various franchises together, with a new Adventure Mode “World of Light” added on top, new challenges, and much more to play through.
