Overwatch Winter Wonderland 2018

The Winter Wonderland event in Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch went live earlier this week and brought a Christmas-themed variant of the Blizzard World map. Along with new cosmetics and returning brawls, this was meant to be one of the event’s highlights. Unfortunately, the developer has identified an issue with the map and has disabled it across all platforms.

According to developer Dan Maas on the official forums, the issue prevented players from leaving spawn areas at the beginning of a match. As a result, matches could not be completed, never mind the frustration caused in modes like Competitive Play. Fixing the issue is currently a “top priority” for the developer.

“We don’t have an ETA to share right now for when Blizzard World will again be playable, but this is currently our top priority and we will be sure to provide updates in this thread and on Twitter via @BlizzardCS as they become available,” said Maas.

It’s also worth noting that modes like No Limits and Mystery Heroes that use Blizzard World in Arcade have also been disabled. Stay tuned for more information, as the development team will hopefully resolve things before long. On the bright side, at least Mei’s Snowball Offensive and Yeti Hunter are still playable.
