Given just how successful Insomniac and Sony’s take on Spider-Man has been, you can’t blame Marvel to try and leverage that. And that’s exactly what they will be doing. Today, Bill Rosemann, executive director of Marvel Games, announced on Twitter that Spider-Man PS4 will be getting his very own comic book adaptation next year, in the form of Spider-Man: City At War.
City at War launches in March 2019, and includes art by Michele Bandini, writing by Dennis Hopeless, and a cover by Clayton Crain. It’s some all star talent backing up this comic book, which gives hope that this won’t be a simple cash in, but rather every bit as loving an adaptation of the game, as the game was of its source characters and universe.
On the games front, Spider-Man wraps up its DLC pass with Silver Lining, which will also include the suit from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (but not Miles Morales’ suit, a fact that has quite a few fans unhappy). The game is out exclusively on PS4.
