There’s been next to no concrete information on Halo Infinite ever since it was revealed at Microsoft’s 2018 E3 press event, but regardless, a few details about it – especially its multiplayer side of things – have managed to find their way into the light. We’ve heard about microtransactions, and have been told in no vague terms that Halo Infinite won’t have real money loot boxes– but what about how it actually plays?

According to 343 Industries’ Frank O’Connor, the franchise director of Halo, the multiplayer of Halo Infinite is coming along very well. In a lengthy thread on Twitter, O’Connor talked about the upcoming shooter’s online quite a bit, spending quite a lot of time talking about the balancing aspects of the game, and about how one of the challenges while developing the multiplayer of all Halo games is trying to find the right balance for the multiple ways in which people like to play the game.

In light of that discussion, O’Connor mentioned that he is “super confident and enthusiastic” about how Infinite’s multiplayer is shaping up, saying that the team at 343 is “approaching both evolution and legacy”. That said, in another tweet, he mentioned that though he is “extremely happy about how Infinite MP plays right now”, several changes are still going to be made to various things. “It will keep changing & things I like now will change and things I don’t will improve,” he said.

Halo Infinite is due out – presumably – on the Xbox One and PC, though it currently does not have a release date. Recently, we learned that the game will support four player splitscreen. Read more on that through here.
