Grinding Gear Games’ Path of Exile is currently in the midst of its Betrayal League, which achieved a new record for peak concurrent player count at launch. Development continues on future updates though, and in a recent forum post, the developer outlined the updates to come in 2019. First off is update 3.6.0, which will release in March. Details on this will be coming next month.

From there we’ll see update 3.7.0 in June, update 3.8.0 in September, and update 3.9.0 in December. “These releases will follow the formula we have been using over the last few years, introducing a challenge league, various expansion features, new character skills/archetypes to play and masses of other fixes and quality of life improvements,” the developer said.

However, it will also be working on the 4.0.0 mega-expansion in the background. This will be releasing sometime in 2020, though it may not be in the first part of the year. “Development of 4.0.0 is a massive task and is absolutely affected by our desire to continue to release sizable leagues at our usual pace, so we are taking our time and making sure it’s ready before we decide on a release date.”

In the meantime, the developer is applying the “finishing touches” to the PS4 version of the game. Though expected to release in December 2018, it was delayed at the last minute to February 2019. A more concrete release date will be announced “in the near future.” Stay tuned for more information in the meantime- and of course, stay sane.
