The VIP access demo for BioWare’s Anthem is out today, but details on featured cosmetic prices are already doing the rounds. One such Reddit post, courtesy of user thyroid, highlights the cost in Coins as well as the game’s premium currency Shards. An Epic armour pack will cost 40,000 Coins or 2000 Shards through the in-game store, for example. How quickly Coins can be earned through gameplay is still undetermined.

While the prices seem fairly high in terms of premium currency, a feature/interview by The Verge confirmed that there were no items that could only be purchased with Shards. Every item is either purchasable with Coins or has a dual price, meaning it can be purchased with either Shards or Coins. Weapons and loot boxes, as promised, are not for sale.

In a response on Reddit, BioWare development manager Camden Eagar said that the featured cosmetic store’s prices in the demo aren’t final. “One thing to keep in mind is these don’t represent final, stamped for all of eternity pricing. We are iterating on our economy design and balance almost daily, so you’re seeing a snapshot of one iteration. This is why we tend to not discuss things like pricing, because it’s one of those iterative things that’s sure to change frequently right up until the day you play the game.”

The VIP access demo will be out today and lasts until January 27th. A free demo will go live from February 1st to 3rd, with the full game releasing on February 22nd for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
