New Titanfall Battle Royale Game Releasing Tomorrow, Will Be Free-to-Play – Rumour

Respawn's take on battle royale is sounding quite interesting.

Titanfall Online may have been cancelled some time back, but apparently, a new online experience set in the Titanfall universe is coming to us sooner than you might expect. According to YouTuber The Quartering, who claims to have insider info, a battle royale Titanfall game, called Apex Legends, is getting announced and released tomorrow, on Monday, and supposedly, it’s going to be a free-to-play title.

According to the report, the game will see teams of three players each battling it out against each other (with a total player count of around 60) to be the last team standing, and will have some interesting variations on the battle royale concept, and will also have “a different feel” from previous Titanfall games. For instance, players will be able to play as several different classes, and the game is being pitched as a cross between Rainbow Six: Siege and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s Blackout mode, to bring a new flavour and style to the battle royale genre.

There is no word on how many maps there will be, but according to the video (which you can view below), the game will have microtransactions (which is to be expected, if it is indeed a free-to-play title). These microtransactions will supposedly be limited only to cosmetic items, however players will also be able to purchase them using in-game currency, which they can earn by performing well in matches.

It’s hard to say whether such a project does exist, or if it does, whether it’s actually coming out as soon as the leak claims it is, so for now, it’s best to take this with a grain of salt. We do know that Respawn has multiple games coming out in 2019, with one of them being Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (while Titanfall 3 is also probably in development), so there could be some truth to these reports.

Stay tuned, and we’ll keep you updated in case any new info comes our way.
