Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 PC Update Changes Playlists, Removes Free For All

Curated playlists will "evolve over time" based on feedback and in-game data, as per Treyarch.

Treyarch has released a new update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 on PC, which changes the modes available in Core and Hardcore Multiplayer playlists, along with Public Zombies. The idea is to offer maps and modes that the community plays more, “along with continued support of new and fan favorite modes in our Multiplayer Featured Playlist section”. This should lead to less time taken when getting into matches.

The problem is that Free For All isn’t available, so if you want to play solo, you’re out of luck. Even worse is that one of the Calling Cards, “Nuked Out”, is now impossible to get. Players were required to earn a Nuclear medal or a 30-kill killstreak in Free For All without using scorestreaks to unlock the Calling Card.

Treyarch did note that it expects the curated playlists to “evolve over time as we adjust the mix of modes based on in-game data and your feedback.” While this could be a way to combat lower player counts, especially when Blackout might have lost some players to Respawn’s free-to-play Apex Legends, it remains to be seen whether the missing modes will return in the future. Regardless, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 continues to receive support, so we’ll see how things shake out.

Those waiting for weapon balance changes should stay tuned in the meantime. Treyarch revealed that a larger balance pass was coming with PC update 1.13 (though the MOG-12 recently saw some adjustments in Blackout). For a full rundown of the current multiplayer playlists, see below:
