Along with tearing apart both new players and hardcore Souls fans this weekend, FromSoftware’s Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice debuted on top in the UK physical sales charts. Gfk Chart-Track and UKIE revealed that the action adventure title managed to beat out Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 with its debut. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is now the developer’s second title to reach “No. 1 in All Formats” in the UK, with the first being Dark Souls 3, which released in 2016.
Only physical retail sales are included in this chart. Considering that Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice was the biggest launch for Steam this year, it’s a given that combined digital and physical retail sales will be higher. The Division 2 fell to second place, so it’s still doing fairly well. FIFA 19 meanwhile managed to move from fourth to third place. Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 occupied the fourth and fifth slots in the chart respectively. Check out the top 10 best-selling games in the UK for the week ending March 23rd below.
