Mortal Kombat 11 is out now and has released to some mixed reactions, with many loving the gameplay, presentation, and massive amount of content- but there’s also been sharp criticism towards the game’s grindy nature, so much so that it affected reception to some extent (which we go in-depth on in our own review for the game as well), and prompted NetherRealm Studios to already be working on fixes for it. Another interesting issue, though, is how the story mode has characters not available to play in two old favorites, Sektor and Cyrax, and the game’s big boss, Kronika. A puzzling decision for many, it seems the modding community is already at work fixing that.
As you can see in the video below, The Gaming Modding Channel already has the characters working as playable. While none are normally playable in the base game, they are played against in the story mode, and have a set list of programmed moves. The mod isn’t out in the public as of yet, but it most likely will make the rounds once more people tinker with the game.
NetherRealm have said they have years of content for the game planned, so it’s possible these characters are planned for official release at some point as well. Worth noting, however, is that the same thing happened with the previous game, Mortal Kombat X, with Rain and Baraka, and they were never actually released as playable versions officially- so whether or not the same happens with Mortal Kombat 11 is anyone’s guess.
