Mortal Kombat 11’s Switch Version to Get Patch Soon to Bring Parity with Other Console Versions

The game is a little behind the other versions, but that should change soon.

Mortal Kombat 11 on the Switch is a bit of a miracle. The game runs at a pretty smooth 60 frames per second during combat (most of the time), and doesn’t look too godawful bad when you consider the power gap between Nintendo’s hybrid and the other consoles- and how much MK11 pushes the graphics threshold. As is sometimes the case with versions developed by other companies (the Switch port was handled by Shiver) and ones that take so much effort, they can fall behind the other core developed versions. But it looks like the Switch version of the latest fighter in the series will be in line with the other consoles soon, according to Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon.

As seen in the tweet below, the developers are aiming to have a patch out soon, either this Friday or early next week, to bring the system up to parity with the PS4 and Xbox One versions. While, of course, the game will never look visually like those two versions, Boon is most likely referring to the last patch, which fixed numerous glitches and issues with the game. Thankfully, the major rebalancing patch already released on the system, since that was one of the game’s key issues.

Mortal Kombat 11 is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. Check out our guide for the Krypt, too, if you find yourself overwhelmed.
