Bloodstone will seemingly be a major city with a number of districts, including one for markets and another called "Pub Island".

As we get closer to the Xbox Developer_Direct slated for January 22, a new set of leaked concept art gives us some strong ideas about some of the places that we will get to explore when Playground Games’ Fable finally comes out. As caught by Mp1st, the concept art showcases a variety of regions across various times of day, and a look at what appears to be a sewer area.

One of the key locations in the concept art is a large, distant city that the protagonist is looking at from the wilds. One artwork has a wooden sign indicating that this distant city might be Bloodstone. The sewers, on the other hand, seem largely nondescript aside from some debris and other environmental challenges that the protagonist has to navigate. The last one of these as our hero coming face-to-face with what appears to be a giant werewolf.

There is also concept art depicting a small settlement in a swamp, with the file names for these pieces referring to the place as Hamlet. There are indications that this Hamlet might serve as the protagonist’s home, and there are two types of concept art, with one depicting the area as having recently suffered from a flood.

More uncolored concept art gives us a closer look at Bloodstone, which seemingly includes a number of districts, like one for markets and another dubbed Pub Island. Among the shops that will seemingly be accessible in the city is The Phoenix Feather, which, going by fantasy genre naming conventions, might be an inn.

One of the final pieces of concept art in this set showcases different kinds of treasure chests. Along with possibly indicating the value or rarity of their contents, the design of the chests might also be related to the locations where they might be found.

Microsoft and Playground Games will be showcasing Fable at the upcoming event, and while nothing has been confirmed as of yet, we might even get to see some gameplay. For more details, also check out reports of a mysterious “secret” fourth game that will be shown off at the upcoming Developer_Direct.

Despite having been unveiled all the way back in 2020, few details have been confirmed so far apart from some pre-rendered trailers. Microsoft had previously stated that Fable will be coming out some time in 2026. However, a report has indicated that, because of how much development time is required, the title might be pushed back even further to a 2027 window. The report came courtesy of XboxEra’s Nick Baker back in July 2025.

“I don’t think Fable‘s next year,” said Baker last year. “My information is that it’s not going to be 2026. I’ve heard it from two different people now that Fable may slip to 2027. And that’s not doom and gloom, oh, there’s something wrong with the game. Problems. Just hearing that it’s taking a little bit longer than they expected.”

Fable is being developed for release on PC and Xbox Series X/S. A report from earlier this month has indicated that it will also be coming to PS5 on the same day.
