Along many of the other changes coming to Destiny 2 with Shadowkeep, Bungie has also debuted new finishing moves. Once an enemy is beyond a certain health threshold, your character can activate a flashy finisher. Beyond that though, how do they work with other gameplay systems like Supers?

While speaking to Polygon, franchise director Luke Smith and general manager Mark Noseworthy offered some new details. Finishers will use a bit of Super energy, though Noseworthy said it’s undecided just how much, and will leave players exposed. They’ll also take up a mod slot in armour and confer different bonuses like creating ammo.

That gameplay element will be separate from the actual animation of the finisher. Though the finishers will be available to earn in-game, the animations will likely be available through Eververse (especially with Noseworthy referring to them as “combat emotes”). While only one finisher will be available to equip, Bungie is working on allowing more than one to be slotted.

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep is out on September 17th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. More extensive details will be coming closer to launch.
