Super Mario Maker 2 has, predictably enough, got off to a strong start. Thanks to strong sales right off the gate in the US, Japan, and the UK, the game managed to sell over 2.4 million units within just three days of launch- and doubtless, that number has climbed much higher in the one month that has passed since then.

All of which is to say, lots of people are buying, playing, and liking Super Mario Maker 2– which, of course, means that lots of people are also uploading courses created by themselves so that others can play them. At last count, earlier this month, the number of total courses uploaded by players stood at 2 million. As per Nintendo, that number has doubled since then, with the total number of courses uploaded by Super Mario Maker 2 players having crossed the 4 million mark.

Nintendo recently doubled the limit of the courses a player can upload in total, bumping it from 32 to 64, and have said that they’ll be upping that cap once more down the road, so we can probably expect a lot more uploads of user-created levels in the future. If you’re struggling with what kind of a level you should create (or how to even create one), check out our handy guide for some tips and tricks.

Super Mario Maker 2 is currently available on Nintendo Switch. Read our review for the game through here, in which we passed the verdict, “if you own a Switch, you need to own Super Mario Maker 2 as well.”
