FromSoftware’s Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice continues to perform strongly after selling over two million copies in just 10 days. Parent company Kadokawa Corporation revealed in its recent Q2 FY2019 financial report that the action title had a total sell in of 3.8 million units worldwide as of June 31st 2019. This was reported by Niko Partners senior analyst Daniel Ahmad on Twitter, who noted that “sell in = shipped.”
Of course, the real question is how many copies have been sold through. Where the title currently stands on digital sales till date is also unknown. Considering Dark Souls 3 shipped three million units worldwide in roughly 1.5 months after its launch, it’s good to see Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice tracking so well.
In May, publisher Activision had noted that sales for the slasher were “better than expected.” Digital sales were also very impressive in March with 1.4 million sales as per SuperData. Check out our review for Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice to see why it’s so darn good (and difficult).
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is currently available for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
