Ghost Recon Breakpoint Trailer Uses Fairy Tales, Cartoon Visuals to Teach Survival

Ubisoft takes an unorthodox approach to explaining the open world shooter's mechanics.

Ubisoft has always had an interesting way of advertising its big releases and Ghost Recon Breakpoint is no different. Why simply showcase the ways to survive on the harsh island of Auroa with its multitude of biomes and killer drones? Why not do the same thing but with crazy cartoon graphics and as fairy tales? Check it out for yourself below.

It’s intriguing, almost like a fever dream – the antagonistic Wolves have big cartoon wolf heads while the Ghosts have, well, ghost heads. While odd, many seem to like this Cuphead-like treatment of the gameplay. If nothing else, it provides an interesting spin on how to use prone camo, heal and survive in the wilderness.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint is out on October 4th for Xbox One, PC and PS4. Pre-ordering now will net guaranteed beta access but expect an open beta closer to launch, much like with Ghost Recon Wildlands. Check out the PC requirements here and more information on changes to Ghost War here.
