Death Stranding is almost here. The review embargo will lift tomorrow, giving us a solid idea of what the critical consensus will be for the game. From its beginning, though, Hollywood talent has been at the forefront. Norman Reedus was the first thing we ended up seeing when the game was officially announced. Today he talked a little about acting and motion capturing for the game, as well as the cult of Kojima.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Reedus talked about the bizarre things he did for his role in the game, including putting on a skintight suit and crawling around on the floor with plastic baby dolls.

“You squeeze into this tiny little suit that is very revealing and embarrassing and you’re strapped in,” he said. “You have a helmet cam on with a big arm sticking out the front of it. Anytime I had to kiss somebody or hug somebody, our heads are bouncing off of each other.

“He [Kojima] would have a plastic baby doll on the ground and want me to cradle it and act like it’s dead. Then act like it’s alive. Then freak out because there’s handprints everywhere.”

As far as Kojima himself, he had high praise for the Director, calling him a genius. He also said it was pretty wild traveling to The Game Awards of last year with Kojima, and the reaction he received saying, “He’s like the Beatles. Grown men in their 40s are screaming with tears in their eyes like Elvis just walked into the room.”

Death Stranding will launch on November 8th. In the meantime, take a look at the near 8 minute long launch trailer that was just released.
