Borderlands 3 was always going to be successful for Gearbox Software, publishers 2K Games, and the latter’s parent company Take-Two Interactive. It’s a series that sells well without fail, and immediately upon launch, Borderlands 3 proved that it will do so as well, shipping over 5 million units within five days of launch and enjoying exceptional digital sales as well.
Now, the looter shooter has crossed another landmark. During their latest quarterly financial briefing, Take-Two Interactive revealed that Borderlands 3 has shipped nearly 7 million units. With the game also launching for Stadia when the service goes live later this month, sales will likely continue to be strong, especially seeing as this is a series that has a propensity to have sustained sales over long periods of time.
Borderlands 3 is also going to be supported by Gearbox Software some time to come (presumably), so one would think that interest in the game will ideally be high for the foreseeable future. Just recently, a new endgame activity was added to the game.
Borderlands 3 is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
